My first true Honors class was a captivating exploration of different theories of what knowledge is and how to go about gaining knowledge. We were taught both empirical and creative inquiry, different types of writing including educational and journalistic, and participated in spirited discussions.
HON 205 (What We Know and How We Know It): My First Poem
Before I had taken this class, I had never written a poem before, and did not really think myself capable of doing so.
I am a fairly literal-minded person, and the thought of having to use heavy metaphors intimidated me. However, this class showed me that I have more types of creativity within me than I had previously thought, and I am proud of my first poem.

HON 205 (What We Know and How We Know It): Magazine Final Project
In HONORS 205, I worked with three other people to create a little magazine addressing issues revolving around the 2016 presidential election. I wrote an article about America's environmental policy, and the issue of science denial in America.
